Bring to Your Appointment
Things to Remember for Your Exam
- Try to come to your exam a few minutes early to complete some paperwork, or download the forms and fill them out before you come.
- If you currently wear glasses or contact lenses, bring them with you to the exam.
- If you have vision insurance, please bring your insurance card.
- Eye drops will be used to dilate your pupils to enable a thorough examination of your eyes.
Because we need to dialate your pupils during your examination, your eyes will be sensitive to light for a few hours afterwards. We provide disposable sunglasses at the end of your appointment. You might prefer to have a friend or family member drive you home after your examination. For some patients, reading vision will be blurred for a few hours after the dilating drops are applied.
