Dr. Tracy T. Nguyen has returned to the Indiana University School of Optometry as a Clinical Professor of Optometry and Associate Vice Provost for Health Sciences Clinical Services and Education. Dr. Nguyen earned her Ph.D. in Vision Science at IUSO in 2012 and holds an O.D. from the University of Houston.

Dr. Nguyen brings with her more than two decades of experience in clinical education, research, and leadership. Most recently, she served as Interim Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs at the State University of New York College of Optometry, where she also held faculty and administrative roles. Her research, supported by the NIH and industry partners, has advanced understanding of corneal physiology, dry eye disease, and myopia control. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented widely at professional meetings.

Passionate about mentoring the next generation of optometrists and scientists, Dr. Nguyen has guided graduate students, taught across the OD curriculum, and been active in national service through the American Academy of Optometry and the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. At IUSO, she looks forward to combining her leadership, teaching, and research expertise to strengthen the school’s clinical and academic missions.
