Indiana University School of Optometry is well aware of the disruption in coursework for many current students because of the COVID-19 pandemic. While letter grades for coursework are still preferred, we understand the difficulty that this may pose for many, and as such, IUSO will accept Pass/No Pass grading for prerequisite courses for the spring, summer, and fall 2020 semesters. Online didactic and laboratory credit will be accepted through summer 2021
We conduct a holistic review of all applications and the academic profile is reviewed in terms of courses taken, grade trends, and final outcomes. IUSO is an Admission Test-Optional school: if you are unable or choose not to take the OAT for any reason, this will not be used against you in the admission process.
We know that this is a fluid situation, and will continually reevaluate our requirements as future events unfold. Please know that in these unprecedented times, we are committed to being flexible with the 2022–2023 application cycle.
