Contact Lenses

Never be annoyed with your contact lenses again

Contact lenses, if you need them, can make everyday tasks possible. Because they are invisible, they are a popular alternative to glasses. However, they can also be too big, too small, too weak, or too strong, adding more problems or even injuries to your eyes.

We fit and prescribe contact lenses to correct a number of vision problems, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. We also prescribe specialized contact lenses for patients following a corneal or refractive surgery, such as LASIK, or after corneal injuries and scarring.

All eyes on you

The Cornea and Contact Lens Service operates in a team approach, with optometry student interns performing your eye exam under the direct supervision of experienced faculty.

The faculty doctor will make the final decisions regarding the prescription, contact lens design and material, and, if needed, management of eye disease.

What to expect at your exam

I have an extreme eye astigmatism (kerataconus) and the outstanding team at the Atwater Eye Care Center were able to fit me with suitable contact lenses that are not even on the market yet.
