Your eyes deserve a second look
The IU School of Optometry offers a unique experience unlike any other eye care center.
At our clinics, you’re seen by an experienced faculty doctor in conjunction with an optometry student—among the nation’s best—who is training to be that doctor someday.
We take this team approach to every service we provide, not only to prepare our future optometrists, but to give our patients the peace of mind that comes with an extra set of eyes.
Services we provide
-
Primary Care
In primary care we update your eyeglass prescription and evaluate the health of the front and the inside of your eyes. If complex issues are found during the examination, we can refer you to our other services for advanced care.
-
Contact Lens and Advanced Contact Lenses
We fit and prescribe contact lenses for a variety of vision issues and provide comprehensive eye exams for patients who wear contact lenses. Advanced contact lenses are custom fitted for patients with irregular eye shapes, eye diseases such as keratoconus, or eye injuries.
-
Pediatrics
We see infants and children of all ages to detect vision problems and to make sure that vision develops well during childhood. We offer free eye assessments for patients under one year of age and complete vision exams as your child grows older.
-
Disease Treatment
Our ocular disease specialists use state-of-the-art technology to evaluate and treat patients with glaucoma, age-related eye macular degeneration, cataracts, infections, diabetic eye disease, and other eye conditions. We also provide pre- and post-operative care to patients after cataract, laser, or other surgeries.
-
Low Vision Rehabilitation
Low vision rehabilitation therapy helps patients to maximize their independence by teaching them how to use their remaining vision through eye movement skills, special optical devices, and other measures.
-
Dry Eye Clinic
Our dry eye clinic is equipped with advanced diagnostic instrumentation and therapeutic treatments to provide our patients with the best outcomes for their dry eye conditions.
-
Aniseikonia
Our Aniseikonia Clinic offers specialized testing to measure image size differences along with a thorough evaluation of binocular vision and refractive error. A specialty spectacle lens design with magnification and/or prism may offer you relief from symptoms you experience daily.
-
Eyewear Center
We have one of the best eyewear selections in Indiana, with frames for all ages, lifestyles, and budgets. Our designer frames range from Ray-Ban to Versace.
-
Laser procedures and corneal cross-linking
We perform laser procedures to treat conditions such as glaucoma and scar tissue build-up after cataract surgery. We also offer corneal cross-linking to stabilize keratoconus and slow it’s progression.
-
Vision Therapy
Vision therapy is a personalized, doctor-supervised program designed to improve visual skills and processing. Vision therapy addresses how the eyes and brain work together to enhance visual function.
