What Are Meme Coins & Tokens in Crypto?
We've all heard of Bitcoin and Ethereum as the big ones over a thousand cryptocurrencies available for trading in the market. But let me tell you, it's fun to have a little fun with your crypto! A bunch of coins/tokens that started as jokes have become some of the big names in the crypto community.
Key points covered in this video:
✔️ Meme coins. In 2013, Dogecoin started as a joke. It went crazy viral during the pandemic and was even featured on Saturday Night Live (which is actually when it started going down a little bit.) Dogecoin now is definitely there in the zeitgeist as one of the leading crypto coins.
✔️ Shiba Inu token launched as the 'Doge Killer' as a joke because apparently, there can only be room for one weird token based on a certain breed of dog.
✔️ Altcoin investments. Many have spun off with so many alternatives. Choose the most promising if not the best altcoins from thousands of options out there.
✔️ Have fun but make sure you have a portfolio. I would never recommend to anyone to put your entire life savings on just Doge. Don't do that. I also recommend doing dollar-cost averaging, where you repeatedly buy the same coin or token over a length of time to make sure that you're buying it at an averaged out price.
