I just want to encourage everyone and say, "Join, BitCoin!" It may not be the last step but it is definitely the first! I think that this is the next step in the digital financial revolution that will be the template for all subsequent electronic-economic platforms in the future. Here are my seven reasons for these conclusions:
1. It is International.
2. Existing economic systems, controls, checks and balances have consistently failed globally.
3. Just as more people are removing assets from corporate banking institutions into credit unions, PayPal and other options, now there is a true alternative, i.e., BitCoin.
4. We need a currency that is relatively free and independent of Governments, Banks and Corporations.
5. The limited quantity of BitCoins is an asset rather than a liability and maintains stability in a system that cannot grow beyond a definite limit (just like in nature).
6. BitCoin's possess all of the benefits of barter but none of the downsides of ANY existing currencies.
7. We are already moving in this direction, through Credit/Debit Cards, PayPal, Pay-By-Phone, etc., so why not go completely digital with our currencies and with our economies?
