Litecoin was created by Charlie Lee, a former Google employee, in 2011. It was designed to be a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and draws on a number of foundational similarities to Bitcoin, although Lee’s intention was to solve some of its perceived issues like transaction times, fees and concentrated mining pools. Originally, it was announced to be a “lite version of bitcoin,” creating the “silver” to Bitcoin’s “gold.” Watch our video to learn all about this digital asset.
