Vision for the Future

Vision for the Future—Indiana

Through the Vision for the Future—Indiana program, Head Start centers will be partnered with local optometrists who then serve as a resource on vision care and examine the children referred by the program.

The program is currently working with Head Start centers in the following counties:

  • Greene
  • Hamilton
  • Marion
  • Monroe
  • Morgan
  • Owen

Vision for the Future in Rwanda

While Vision for the Future started in Indiana, the goal is to expand what we are learning and use it across the globe where there is a definite need for pediatric vision care.

In August 2018, Dr. Don Lyon will partner with IU's Books and Beyond program and travel to Musanze, Rwanda. While in Rwanda, Dr. Lyon will provide eye screenings and glasses to students at Kabwende Primary School.
