Katie Connolly, OD, FAAO is an Associate Clinical Professor at Indiana University School of Optometry (IUSO). She graduated from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in 2014. She joined the faculty in 2015 immediately after completing her residency in pediatrics and binocular vision here at IUSO.
She is the Chief of Pediatric and Binocular Vision Services, Director of the Myopia Management Clinic and serves as the residency coordinator for the Pediatric Optometry Residency at IUSO.
She teaches in the clinic, laboratory and classroom in the areas of pediatric optometry, binocular vision and optometric coding and billing.
She leads several vision screening and eye exam initiatives at the local, state, and international level. She oversees IUSO’s local vision screening program which provides screenings for over 4500 local children per year. She is chair of the Indiana Optometric Association’s Vision Screening Committee where she oversees state efforts to improve vision screening initiatives in collaboration with the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) and Indiana Department of Education (IDOE). She is executive director of See Better. Learn Better (SBLB) which is a registered charity in Jamaica. This is a comprehensive and sustainable vision care program that provides vision screenings, eye exams and glasses to children in western Jamaica. Since 2017 the program has provided over 15,000 screenings and is endorsed by the Ministry of Health and Wellness in Jamaica. She is also a clinical director for Special Olympics Lions Club International Opening Eyes and leads events in Indiana and at the national level and gives continuing education to providers in the Special Olympics network.
At IUSO she conducts clinical research in the areas of pediatric amblyopia, strabismus and myopia control. She is local principal investigator for the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG).
She lectures nationally and internationally on optometric coding, amblyopia, strabismus, vision therapy, myopia management, pediatric optometry, and intellectual disabilities.
In 2022, she was named Indiana’s Young Optometrist of the Year. In 2025 she was awarded the Meritorious Service Award for Indiana Optometry.
