Biography

Dr. Hyungsik Lim received his Bachelor of Engineering in Material Science and Engineering (1998) from Seoul National University and Ph.D. in Applied and Engineering Physics (2005) from Cornell University.

After postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School and Cornell University in the laboratories of Drs. Johannes F. de Boer and Watt W. Webb, respectively, Dr. Lim joined the CUNY Hunter College in 2009 as assistant professor in Physics and Astronomy, where he rose to the rank of professor in 2021. 

Dr. Lim joined the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2024 as professor of optometry.
