Dr. Tankam received a bachelor in Mathematics in 2004 (University of Yaounde I, Cameroon). He received his M.S. degree in Optical Engineering in 2007; and a Ph.D. in Optical Sciences in 2010 (University of Le Mans, France) developing multi-wavelength digital holography for optical metrology. Dr. Tankam was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institut d’Optique Rhone-Alpes, France, from 2011 to 2012, where he contributed to the optical design and characterization of diffractive intra-corneal lens for presbyopia correction. He joined the Institute of Optics and Center for Visual Science (University of Rochester) in September 2012 as Research Associate to develop high resolution Optical Coherence Tomography for biomedical applications. Dr. Tankam worked as a Senior Optical Scientist at Corning Incorporated from December 2016 to July 2017 to enable advanced innovations in metrology of display technologies, before joining the faculty at Indiana University School of Optometry in August 2017. His research interests include corneal imaging, corneal disease and mechanism, light interaction with biological tissue, interferometry, optical metrology, optical coherence tomography, fluorescence microscopy, optical design and image processing. Dr. Tankam is an active member of the Optical Society of America and The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He is a reviewer for numerous journals including Optics Letters, Optics Express, Applied Optics, Applied Sciences, Biomedical Optics Express, Nature Scientific Reports, Journal of Modern Optics, etc.
