Biography

Dr. Julie Torbit is a 1993 graduate of the IU School of Optometry. She completed a one-year residency in hospital-based optometry at the FDR VA Hospital in Montrose, New York. She served for five years as an assistant professor in the Ocular Disease Department at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. While there, she also taught several courses related to the diagnosis and management of ocular pathology. Currently, Dr. Torbit is a clinical consultant at the school’s Indianapolis Eye Care Center and director of their outreach program. She has given multiple continuing education lectures at a local and national level. Dr. Torbit is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and board certified by the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry.
